POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Per Diem Physical Therapist (PT, MPT, MSPT)
Reports To: Director of Physical Therapy
Supervises: Physical Therapy Assistants & Physical Therapy Aides
Position Status: Non-Exempt Per Diem

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy, this experienced Physical Therapist will have a passion for excellence in patient care, leading and mentoring PTAs, and improving the quality of life for those in the communities we serve. The Physical Therapist will be established in the community with referral contacts and a reputation for excellence in care.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop comprehensive programs to ensure the highest quality of patient care, providing direct care through evaluation, assessment, care planning, and treatment across a wide range of clinical diagnoses.
Actively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams as needed to coordinate patient plans and document progress in compliance with clinic, CMS, and other regulatory requirements.
Consult with patients, families, and medical providers to educate and align on treatment plans, maintaining open communication with referrers when necessary.
Stay current with new techniques and maintain appropriate certifications, adhering to the APTA standards, California State PT practice act, and clinic policies, including meeting all documentation requirements for billing, regulatory compliance, and certification standards.
Commit to continuous quality improvement by actively supporting the clinic's Quality Assurance Plan to enhance patient care and service delivery.
Maintain professional licensure and work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, both within the clinic and in the broader community, demonstrating genuine enthusiasm for the health center's mission and contributing to its success through dedication to high-quality patient care and teamwork.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Successful completion of a Graduate degree or higher from an accredited physical therapy program with five (5) or more years of rehabilitation experience.
- Current CA state licensure in physical therapy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional training with a doctorate degree is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires walking, standing, and sitting for prolonged periods; climbing stairs and step-stools; stooping, kneeling, crouching, balancing, and reaching; pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds; raising objects overhead; manual dexterity for operation of computers and phones; hearing, talking, and good verbal and written communication skills.
Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers are involved. The employee may be subject to outside environmental conditions of heat and cold and walking on uneven ground. The position requires the ability to safely operate and drive a motor vehicle.
