Your role as a Physical Therapist - PRN
As a Physical Therapist at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics, you will provide skilled physical therapy services across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care. You'll utilize your competencies to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, improving their functional abilities and overall wellness. Your responsibilities will include thorough documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and interdisciplinary communications in accordance with hospital safety policies.
You will also engage patients and their families in education processes, ensuring they are informed and involved in their care. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will develop individualized care plans, set achievable goals, and perform patient treatments using modalities and therapeutic exercises. Your role will extend to mentoring Physical Therapy Assistants and fostering a cooperative team environment, embodying the core values of empathy, integrity, and customer-centricity that define our organization.

To excel as a Physical Therapist at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited physical therapy program, with a Doctorate Degree preferred. Current Iowa state licensure is essential, alongside maintaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Success in this role requires strong clinical knowledge and application of evidence-based practices to deliver high-quality physical therapy services across diverse patient populations. Proficiency in documentation software and familiarity with patient management systems will be critical for efficient record-keeping and communication within interdisciplinary teams.
Additionally, strong interpersonal skills are necessary to foster positive relationships with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare colleagues. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of physical therapy.
- Current Iowa state licensure as a physical therapist. Must maintain BLS certification.
- Must have clinical knowledge necessary to competently perform quality physical therapy
- Doctorate Degree preferred.
