About the Role:
The Physical Therapist Inpatient/Outpatient plays a critical role in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients with a variety of physical impairments and disabilities. This position involves assessing patients' physical conditions, developing personalized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function. The therapist will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes in both inpatient and outpatient settings. They will also educate patients and their families on exercises, injury prevention, and health maintenance to support long-term wellness. Ultimately, this role aims to enhance patients' quality of life by promoting independence and physical well-being through evidence-based therapeutic practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree from an accredited program physical therapy program.
- Current and unrestricted state license to practice physical therapy in Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated experience in both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy settings.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic modalities.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practice guidelines and outcome measurement tools.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialty certification such as Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) or Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS).
- Additional certifications in manual therapy or therapeutic exercise.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess physical abilities, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical best practices.
- Provide hands-on therapy and guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, flexibility, and coordination.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and update treatment progress.
- Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and strategies to maintain physical health.
- Adapt treatment approaches to accommodate the specific needs of inpatient and outpatient populations.
- Stay current with advancements in physical therapy techniques and integrate new knowledge into clinical practice.
