The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Healthcare is seeking a Senior Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders, and/or injuries. This position will work with a variety of patients with a wide range of dysfunctions in an inpatient critical care setting at the Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City. You will act as a clinical resource providing mentorship in the unit.
Duties to include:
• Provide exceptional patient care, evaluation, assessment, and treatment appropriate for patients with complex or specialized needs.
• Participate in the development of innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students.
• Exhibit divisional and/or departmental leadership by:
o Serving as a clinical resource and maintain a high level of clinical productivity.
o Participate in clinical research and collaborate on special projects.
o Assist with setting and accomplishing divisional/departmental goals and assists management as necessary.
o Develop, implement and expand learning opportunities and skills development for staff & students.
o Assist in establishing new programs, as well as maintaining and developing current programs.
o Assist in the administration of the departmental Quality Assurance program.
o Participate in the development of service operations, policies and procedures.
• Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
• Additional tasks/responsibilities as needed/assigned.

• On Campus: This position is performed fully on the campus of the University Medical Center.
• This position is part-time, 50%25.
• Work Schedule: Assigned schedule/hours would be one weekend a month (Saturday and Sunday, 8-hour days) and every Thursday and Friday, 8-hour days. This is also a float position. Coverage would be assigned by manager based on departmental needs.

Required Qualifications:
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy is required.
• Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required.
• 2+ years of experience in Physical Therapy is necessary, with a high degree of understanding and skill in one or more areas of assigned responsibility.
• Demonstrated skills in clinical education abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Desirable Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
• 3+ years of experience in one or more areas of assigned responsibility.
• Demonstrates leadership abilities.
• Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
