The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health care is looking for a Senior Physical Therapist to administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will primarily be assigned to the orthopedic outpatient setting.
Position Responsibilities:
·Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patients with complex or specialized needs. Assignment will involve primarily adults in an outpatient setting.
·Participate in the development of innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students.
·Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner and demonstrate innovative problem solving approaches.
·Provides divisional and departmental leadership by:
oCollaborating on special projects and assisting management as necessary.
oParticipating in clinical research and maintaining a high level of clinical productivity.
oProviding educational experiences to staff and students.
oServing as a clinical resource.
oDemonstrating the ability to set and accomplish divisional/departmental goals.
·Identify opportunities, monitor and participate in quality/process improvement activities and recommend corrective actions for effectiveness.
·Performs special projects and tasks as assigned.
·Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.

Experience Requirements:
·A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor’s degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required.
·Reasonable (2+ years) experience as a Physical Therapist with a high degree of understanding and skill in one or more areas of assigned responsibility.
·Demonstrated clinical educational abilities.
·Demonstrated leadership experience in a work or other professional setting.
·Demonstrated ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required
Desirable Qualifications:
·3+ years of experience in Physical Therapy with advanced understanding and skill in providing physical therapy primarily to adults in an outpatient setting.
·Reasonable (1-3 years) experience in evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disorders.
·Ability to practice in an autonomous manner
·Demonstrated effectiveness in provision of patient care
·Demonstrated efficiency in provision of patient care
·Demonstrated effort to enhance one’s own knowledge, skills and abilities
·Demonstrated program/service development or quality improvement projects
