Staff Physical Therapist (DPT) – Sports & Orthopedics
Fit Club Physical Therapy & Sports Performance | Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY
Not Your Typical Physical Therapy Job.
Are you a physical therapist who loves working with active people, enjoys the gym environment, and wants the autonomy to treat patients the way you believe they should be treated?
At Fit Club Physical Therapy & Sports Performance, we're looking for a motivated, personable, and team-oriented Physical Therapist to join our Williamsburg location.
Our clinic is located inside a gym, giving our therapists access to a dynamic environment where rehabilitation, strength training, and sports performance come together.
We work with runners, lifters, recreational athletes, weekend warriors, and everyday New Yorkers who want to move better, get stronger, and return to doing what they love.
We believe great physical therapy goes beyond the treatment table.
What Makes Fit Club Different?
-
One-on-One Patient Care: Spend meaningful time with your patients rather than juggling multiple people simultaneously.
-
Clinical Autonomy: We trust our therapists to think critically, develop individualized treatment plans, and make clinical decisions.
-
Gym-Based Environment: Take rehab beyond traditional treatment rooms and incorporate strength training, functional movement, and performance-based exercises.
-
Active Patient Population: Work with motivated patients who want to get back to running, lifting, competing, and living active lives.
-
Team-Oriented Culture: Collaborate with clinicians who share ideas, support one another, and work toward common goals.
-
Professional Growth: Build your clinical skills, confidence, and professional relationships in an environment that encourages continued development.
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
- Enjoys treating active individuals and orthopedic conditions.
- Is passionate about strength training, exercise, and sports performance.
- Communicates clearly and builds meaningful relationships with patients.
- Values autonomy but understands the importance of collaboration.
- Takes ownership of their patients' progress and overall experience.
- Is coachable, open to feedback, and interested in professional development.
- Brings positive energy, professionalism, and accountability to the workplace.
- Is comfortable educating patients and helping them understand the bigger picture of their rehabilitation.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized plans of care.
- Deliver evidence-informed, one-on-one physical therapy.
- Incorporate manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, strength training, and movement-based rehabilitation as clinically appropriate.
- Guide patients through the full rehabilitation process, from injury recovery to return to sport or activity.
- Educate patients on their conditions, progress, and long-term injury prevention strategies.
- Communicate effectively with fellow clinicians, staff, and referral partners.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative clinic environment.
- Participate in community outreach and opportunities to connect with local gyms, fitness professionals, and athletic communities.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Current New York State Physical Therapist license or eligibility for licensure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports medicine, and strength and conditioning.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- New graduates with a strong interest in sports and orthopedics are encouraged to apply.
