Under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy, this position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. YMCA Outpatient Physical Therapists will provide rehabilitation services within the clinic in a manner consistent with our mission and values. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, evaluation and treatment of patients, regular communication with referral sources and modeling professional behavior. As an Outpatient Physical Therapist, you’ll work closely with patients ranging from adolescents
to seniors, employing evidence-based practices to help them regain mobility, reduce pain, and enhance their quality of life. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, healthcare staff, and other therapists, to create personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Y: We’re for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Conduct initial patient assessments and evaluations.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Provide hands-on therapy and therapeutic exercises.
Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and home exercise programs.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Utilize various physical therapy techniques and equipment.
Ensure patient safety during all therapy sessions.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in physical therapy.

Must be able to move with patient and lift 21-50 lbs. from floor to waist. Lift 11-20 lbs. from waist to shoulder, lift weights under 10 lbs. overhead. Carry, push, and pull 21-50 lbs.

Qualifications
Experience in an outpatient clinical setting.
Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Specialization or certification in a relevant area of physical therapy.
Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks and aid patients.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and practices.
